a. LOGERR (log errors)

This bit specifies the operation of the logging function for drive attribute data for failure
predictions.

"0" : This is the vendor specification (performs data collection concerning special

attributes).

"1" : Performs collection of data concerning all attributes.

The drive does not depend on the value specified in this bit but collects data in
accordance with the DEXCPT specification.

b. DEXCPT (disable exception control)

This bit specifies whether the failure prediction function is permitted or prohibited.

"0" : Permits the failure prediction function. The drive performs collection of data

concerning the attributes which it supports and it changes the data. The notification
method when predicting a failure is specified by Reporting Method.
