4.2.2  Transanal Insertion

(1)  Give instructions a patient to lie on examining table in a 

proper position according to endoscopy procedures.

(2)  Unlock the bending portion by turning the up-down 

locking lever and the left-right locking knob in the 
direction of F   until they stop.

[Note]

Another procedure is also available: you can insert the 
endoscope by locking the bending portion only in the 
left-right direction and unlocking it in the up-down 
direction.

(3)  Switch on the power to the processor and turn on the lamp.

(4)  Remove air from the balloon on the distal end of the 

endoscope and the balloon on the overtube. 

Apply clean lubricant (Xylocaine jelly or the like) to the 
insertion portion as required.

[Note]

Do not apply Xylocaine spray, olive oil or the like directly 
to the insertion portion.
