
2.5 Nomenclature and Functions of Accessories
2.5.1 Forceps Valve
The forceps valve is provided without sterilization and must be cleaned and disinfected (or
sterilized) prior to use following the instructions of the Reprocessing Manual.

This portion is mounted on the instrument channel inlet on the
control portion, and prevents leak or backflow of air when an
endoscopic accessory such as an endotherapy device is used.
Lid
This portion functions as a valve
for preventing the leak or backflow
of air.
<How to Use the Forceps Valve>
The forceps valve consists of a valve body and a lid. It
performs the function of preventing leak or backflow of
air. A lid should normally be kept closed.
When attaching the syringe to supply water or fluid,
remove this lid.
[Note]
When not using an endotherapy device or syringe through
the instrument channel inlet, keep this lid closed.
