Installation on a Windows PC

Windows

Set the [USB MODE] switch to [PRINTER] and turn the power off.

Connect the printer and PC using a USB cable.

Turn the printer power on.

Check PC operation. This procedure varies depending on the PC OS.

This step is not required for subsequent connections

The Windows CD-ROM may also be required in some cases. Have the CD-ROM ready
beforehand. If no Windows CD-ROM was supplied with your PC, consult the Owner's
Manual for the PC or contact the PC manufacturer.

Enter “Printer name”.
Check that “Printer name” is “FUJIFILM CX-400”
and then click the [OK] button to start
installation.

At the end of installation, the message shown at the right
appears. Click the [OK] button.

CONNECTING THE PRINTER

Actually connect the printer to the PC and check that the USB printer driver was installed correctly.

Windows 98/98 SE/Me

This places the printer into the
available state.

The “New Hardware Found” wizard appears. The wizard will close when the settings are
completed. No action is required.

The screen shown at the right is displayed. click the [Restart]
button.

Install QuickTime as directed by the on-screen instructions.

If QuickTime version 5.0 or later has already been installed, this installation is not performed.

Click the [Agree] button in the “Software
License Agreement” window.

If the “Connection speed” window appears,
set the correct speed for your environment
and then click the [Next] button.

If the connection speed is unknown,
simply click the [Next] button.

INSTALL THE PRINTER DRIVER

Open “My Computer” and right-click the “Printpix” CD-ROM icon and select “Open”.

Double-click “SETUP” or “SETUP.exe” in the CD-ROM.

The setup window appears. Click the [Installation of Printer Driver] button.

The message shown at the right appears. Click
the [OK] button.

• When installation failed, restart the PC, uninstall the software (P. 70) and then

reinstall FinePixViewer.
