Description of Equipment
The THJ80 is an air temperature forcing system for thermal testing electronic components. It
is available in the following configurations:

Figure 1 shows a typical thermal test fixture layout. The insulated shroud prevents ambient
air entrainment, creating a well-defined, repeatable heat transfer environment. The shroud is
usually lowered on to the test fixture with the airflow centered on the DUT. Silicone sponge
insulation is commonly used to thermally isolate the DUT from supporting surface. Although
this configuration is the most popular, the ThermoJet can be adapted to test circuit boards
and a wide range of electronic assembly shapes and sizes. A broad range of standard and
custom enclosures are offered by FTS for this purpose.
