System
Operation
Startup Procedure
1. Verify that the proper electrical and air utilities have been connected.
2. The red EMO (mushroom) switch is in the raised position and that the air supply is turned on.
3. Ensure the end of the air delivery assembly is directed away from personnel, the test fixture, and
any other critical components.
4. Position the Touch Screen for easy operator access.
5. The EMO CPC connector must be installed.
6. Turn on the main circuit breaker.
7. Touch the touch screen and follow the prompts to start the system.
8. In a few seconds, the System Controller should complete its internal checks and the Manual
Operation screen will be displayed with “Initializing” displayed in the status field. The ThermoJet
can now be used for ambient to high temperature testing. In about fifteen minutes, the
refrigeration system will be sufficiently cold enough to provide temperatures down to –80°C.
At the completion of the Startup procedure, the ThermoJet will automatically go into "Idle Mode".
In Idle Mode the air flow is 5 SCFM, the nozzle air is controlled at 25°C, the controller is in Nozzle
Air control mode and the arm is in the “Up” position (for applicable models).
System Interlocks
The ThermoJet is equipped with a low inlet pressure and a low air flow interlock to prevent
system damage by operating it under improper conditions. The inlet pressure interlock notifies the
user of the alarm. The user will still be able to use the system. The low flow interlock shuts off the
heater when a gas flow drops below a pre-set limit.
