Configure Communication Port Screen -
The configure communication port screen gives the
operator two selections, GPIB or Serial.

From the configure communication port set option screen the operator can configure the
command set (RS232 or GPIB).
1. RS232 -
When communicating serially the communication parameters may be customer
specific. This means the operator has the ability to select Data bits, Stop bits, Party, and Baud
Rate.
•
Change Serial Parameters –
When the change parameters button is pressed the Data bits,
Stop bits, Parity, and Baud Rates are updated.
•
Data Bits –
Specify the number of data bits to transmit (7 or 8).
•
Stop Bits -
Specify the number of bits used to indicate the end of a byte (1 or 2).
•
Parity -
Specify the type of parity checking (None, Even, Odd).
•
Baud Rate –
Specify the data transfer rate bits per seconds (BPS).

Comm Port Ind –
Communication port indicator. After the change button is pressed the
Comm port indicator will be in either one of two states. Good means that the communication
port has been updated with new parameters and is functioning properly. Error means the
parameters were not updated and the communication port will not function properly. If the
Error occurs simply press the Change Serial Parameters again. If the error does not
disappear contact the FTS Service department for troubleshooting guidelines.
