How to Open the User Interface at Any Time via
a LAN Connection
FRITZ!Box Fon ata is equipped with a fixed IP address that
cannot be changed. The FRITZ!Box Fon ata user interface can
be opened at any time using this IP address. This fixed IP ad-
dress is:
192.168.178.254
Proceed as follows to open the FRITZ!Box Fon ata user inter-
face at this address:
1.
Clear the connection between FRITZ!Box Fon ata and
the DSL modem, cable modem or router.
2.
If FRITZ!Box Fon ata is connected to the computer via a
USB port, remove the USB cable.
3.
Connect FRITZ!Box Fon ata and the computer using the
red network cable (see the section “Connecting
FRITZ!Box Fon ata to the LAN Port” from page 18).
4.
Take note of the computer’s current IP settings.
5.
Change the IP settings by entering the following fixed IP
address:
192.168.178.150
6.
Start your Internet browser and enter FRITZ!Box Fon
ata’s fixed IP address:
192.168.178.254
The FRITZ!Box Fon ata user interface opens.
7.
Once you have reached the FRITZ!Box Fon ata user inter-
face again, you should check the FRITZ!Box Fon ata set-
tings and correct them if necessary.
8.
Enter the settings you noted in the computer’s IP set-
tings dialog. If the computer was originally connected
to FRITZ!Box Fon ata via the USB cable, reconnect
FRITZ!Box Fon ata to the computer by means of USB.
9.
Reconnect FRITZ!Box Fon ata to the DSL modem, cable
modem or the router.
