6.3 Maintenance
6.3.1 Required annual inspection of electric stunners
In accordance with the operational safety regulation and the accident
prevention regulation, the operator of a slaughterhouse is obligated to
inspect all electric stunners at least once each year for compliance with
the requirements of the German Animal Protection Slaughter Regulation
(TierSchlV).
Service
The required annual inspection is carried out in the factory of FREUND
Maschinenfabrik by an electrician in accordance with the accident
prevention regulation “Electrical Systems and Equipment”.
Our service includes the complete inspection with inspection report and
test sticker. In addition, we can provide you with a replacement stunning
device for the duration of the inspection, at an extra charge.

6.3.2 Periodic inspection of electrical equipment
In accordance with the accident prevention regulation “Electrical
installations and equipment” and the operational safety rules the operator
is obliged to ensure that all electrical machinery and installations are
regularly checked for electrical safety.
Inspection
intervals
Periodic inspections of non-stationary electrical machinery and equipment
that is used in slaughtering and cutting plants must be carried out at
intervals of six months in accordance with
DIN VDE 0701-0702/EN 60204-1.
The electrical test must be carried out by an electrically skilled person in
the sense of the accident prevention regulation “Electrical installations and
equipment” or by an electrically instructed person.
We recommend that you should document the inspections and test results
in a test logbook. This will enable you any time to furnish proof that you
have inspected your machinery and equipment in accordance with
requirements.
Service
