2.2 Safety site operator's responsibilities
In accordance with the rules and regulations of the employers' liability
insurance association relating to the safety and health when working for a
business in the meat industry (BGR 229), the site operator may only allow
insured persons who are 18 years old and are familiar with the equipment
and the handling of the equipment to operate slaughter equipment.
Young people over 16 years may be employed only if this is required as part
of their vocational training and if they have read and understood the safety
instructions. Their safety must be ensured by a supervisor.
