Gateway provides central network storage or Network Attached Storage (NAS) and a
secure connection for multiple personal computers (PCs) to the Internet through an external
modem. The RAID functionality of the built-in hard drive enables optimal protection against
the loss of your data. If you are unfamiliar with networking and routing basics, refer to Ap-
pendix C, "Networks and Routing Basics", to become more familiar with the terminology
and procedures used in this manual.
