Storage / Disposal
This section deals with procedures to be taken to the
storage after the decommissioning of the SBE. The goal is
to protect the SBE, the environment and people from
damages. Therefore FORUM Handling Tools recommends to
read and implement the following procedure accurately.
8.1
Storage of the entire Equipment
Storage procedure
1. Store the SBE on a pallet located on an even, supporting surface.
» Observe the weight specifications in the technical data.
2. Ensure that the SBE is stored so that no person can be injured by moving parts or sharp
edges.
3. Secure the SBE with tensioning cables or in another manner to prevent it from slipping or
tipping when moved.
4. Lubricate the SBE as described in section “Lubrication”.
5. Conserve all bare metal surfaces. FORUM Handling Tools recommends the use of a
lubricant or Tectyl.
» These surfaces should be checked periodically to be sure that no corrosion has occurred.
6. Protect the SBE against water penetration with a plastic tarp
Intermediate and Longer Storage
Protection of equipment
• Clean the SBE roughly.
• Apply lubricant to all bare surfaces.
• Protect all other bare surfaces with Tectyl Type 864 or an
equivalent agent.
• Place SBE only on pallets and secure with tensioning cables
and anti-slip mat.
• Protect the SBE against water penetration with a plastic tarp.
Ambient Conditions
• Store in dry surroundings (maximum humidity 80%).
