Instructions for inspection and
maintenance
1. In the event of visible damage or excessive
wear contact the Forum B + V Oil Tools
Service
Department or an authorized repair company.
2. Weldings of the forgings should be avoided since
this material is very hard if not impossible to weld.
Contact Forum B + V Oil Tools or an authorized
service company for any welding questions. A
regular preventative maintenance program should
be established for all elevators. These written
maintenance procedures should be given to the
crew or maintenance personnel.
3. Ensure that all other maintenance work is performed
only by personnel trained for this work and familiar
with the risks involved in operating the equipment.
4. Ensure that all repair work not performed by
Forum B + V Oil Tools
is nevertheless accomplished
in compliance with the manufacturer's specifications
and instructions.
5. Small cracks and irregularities, which do not affect
the safety or proper operation of the SBE can be
removed by grinding (refer to Critical Areas).
6. After repair always check the repaired part in a
suitable manner to ensure that the defect has been
remedied.
Prerequisites for maintenance work
1. Ensure that the SBE is set down on a good
supporting surface so that it could not tip.
2. Provide for sufficient lighting at the workplace.
3. The SBE must be removed from the
Elevator-Links.
