DEFINITIONS
In this section different technical terms are going to be used, definitions of which are provided below to make
understanding the manual easier.
SCANNER
: an access to a preestablished DMX address that manages groups of 16 channels for each device
or group of devices assigned to that address. You can activate as many scanners as you want at the same
time to control or program different groups of lighting equipment.
SCENE
: a position in the memory where a determined sliding control configuration is stored. For storing 16
values for each scanner (1 per channel)
BANK
: set of 8 scenes. In automatic mode, the programmed bank scenes can be played in sequence. The
model
DMX-81
has 30 banks.
CHASE
: a set of scenes stored in the control console memory, in an order set by the user. Each chase can
store individual scenes or complete banks, with a total of 240 scenes. The chases will be played following
the 1-2-3-4-5-6 sequence, only if they are programmed and activated. The
DMX-81
model has 6 banks.
OPERATING MODES
The
DMX-81
control console can operate in manual mode, in automatic mode or in sound activation mode.
To select one of the modes follow the instructions below.
MANUAL MODE
- Check that the automatic mode, programming mode or sound activation mode have not been activated,
by looking at the display. If this is the case, press the AUTO/DEL button to deactivate automatic mode,
press and hold the PROGRAM button for 3 seconds to exit the programming mode, or cancel the sound
activation by pressing MUSIC/BANK COPY.
- Select the scanner that you wish to use and modify the channels using the sliding control on each scanner.
Press the PAGE SELECT button if the device has more than 8 channels, to be able to program the values
in channels 9 to 16.
- You can choose the viewing mode for the value of each channel using the TAPSYNC/DISPLAY button to
vary 0-255 or 0-100 between each display.
Note
: all the changes made in manual mode are instantaneous and will not be stored in the control console
memory.
