Power-off (shut down) procedure:
The system can be powered off from any mode, at any time, without damaging the
system. However, avoid to power-off the system during the initialization phase.
From an operational point of view, it is highly recommended to select STOW prior to
powering off, as the STOW position is important for the protection of the optical windows
during aircraft take-off and landing.
1.3.3
Flying the TCU in an unpowered state
The TCU must be in STOW position if the system is to be flown in an unpowered state
(e.g. during ferry flight.)
NOTE:
The TCU can be moved to STOW by hand if the TCU is not in the STOW position, if the
system is unpowered and prior to flight. STOW position is cons90° lookup (to engage the
STOW magnet) and -180° from the flight path.
