FINAL PREPARATION
INSTALLING MEDIA
Install media (Firegear GR glass) into the burner pan.
Ensure the media used is minimum ⅜” to ¾” crushed
glass as a base.
Install the crushed glass into the burner trough (box
surrounding the burner tube). Fill the trough to the top
edge with your crushed glass. Media must stop at the
top edge of the trough. After filling the trough reinstall the
mesh hood overtop of the pilot area.
NOTE:
In some
cases you may have more media than needed for the
“trough only” applications, depending on the model.
Once the burner trough if filled the remaining inside floor
area of the fireplace can be covered with rock, matching
glass or Firegear GL glass to blend the entire firebox per
the shaded area in Fig. 23.
IMPORTANT:
When filling the remaing fire box with
media ensure no media falls down inside the pilot cover
area (Fig. 21, page 16). This is crucial to provide fresh
air to the pilot assembly and pilot covers (Figs. 20-21).
This provides even flow of combustion air on both sides
of the fireplace.
