Print Options
Print options and override hierarchy
In the following table, the default printer driver settings (PPD defaults) are underlined.
The Printer’s Default setting indicated that a default has been specified in Fiery ZX
Setup. To find out about the current Setup defaults, print the Configuration page from
the Command WorkStation or from the Fiery ZX Control Panel.
The override hierarchy is as follows:
• A user’s printer driver settings override the Fiery ZX Setup settings.
• Settings made from the Command WorkStation or the Fiery WebSpooler override
the user’s printer driver settings.

Black Detection
Off/On
Specify whether the Fiery ZX should scan
documents (

) before printing to detect
black-only pages. Allows for accurate
billing of black-and-white pages.
The Color Mode option must be set to
CMYK to set this option to On.
Black Overprint

to print black text with
knockouts. Select

to overprint black
text on colored backgrounds.
If this option is set to On:
• The Pure Black Text/Graphics option
must be set to On.
• The Combine Separations option must
be set to Off.
• The Compression option must be set
to On.
This option cannot be set to On when
printing separations, only when printing
composites.
