Commissioning
3.
4.
Commissioning may only be performed by qualified specialised personnel who are familiar with:
–
Festo Configuration Tools (FCT)/Festo Automation Suite (FAS)
–
Installation and operation of handling systems
Note the following during commissioning:
–
Never disconnect the plugs and electrical interfaces when powered.
–
Observe the handling specifications for electro-statically sensitive devices.
–
Do not disconnect or connect tubing when the compressed air supply is switched on.
8.2
Limit switch
Proximity switches are mounted as limit switches.
If the position of the proximity switches is changed, observe the following:
–
Mark the position of the proximity switches before moving them so the normal position can be reset
if required.
–
Observe the tightening torques
è
Assembly instructions, proximity switch.
–
Adjust the slot covers if necessary.
–
Check the product for freedom from collisions.
–
Check that the proximity switches are correctly positioned with a test run.
8.3
Perform initial commissioning with test run
DANGER
Risk of injury due to uncontrolled movement.
The moving parts of the product move unpredictably and at high speed within the range of motion.
• Do not stand in the range of motion of the product.
1. Switch on the power supply.
2. Pressurise the compressed air supply slowly. Move the pneumatic drives to the end positions at
reduced pressure.
Perform control movement at low speed:
–
Determine the directions of movement. Even under identical control motors/gear units of the
same design may rotate in the opposite direction due to different connection/mounting.
–
Check function of the limit switches.
Start test run at low speed:
–
Gradually increase the speed up to the required and permissible travel speed.
–
Clear any malfunctions that may occur
5. Finish the test run.
