4.1.2
Automatic configuration
Benefits
No setting by the user is necessary in automatic configuration of the I/Os. At system start, the CTEL
master module automatically determines the suitable I/O configuration presetting
(
è
smaller configuration presetting can be selected compared to the manual configuration.
Select automatic configuration
To operate the CTEL master module with the “Automatic configuration” operating mode, the DIL
switches S1.1 and S1.2 must be set to “OFF”. The position of switches S2.1 and S2.2 is not relevant
thereby.
Sequence at system start
–
Interrogation of the I-ports
At system start, all four I-ports are interrogated and the number of I/Os of all connected devices is
determined to the precise byte.
–
Selection of the configuration presetting
The sum of the determined I/Os is compared by the software to the available configuration preset
tings (
è
2.4.1 I/O configuration presettings). The suitable or next higher configuration presetting is
selected.
Example:
The following devices are connected to the CTEL master module at the system start:
–
Output module with 16 outputs (2 bytes O)
–
Input module with 8 inputs (1 byte I)
–
Valve terminal with 32 outputs (4 bytes O)
–
Input module with 16 inputs (2 bytes I)
Sum of the required I/O bytes: 3 bytes I/6 bytes O
Selection of the configuration presetting:

…
32 bytes I/0 bytes O
8 bytes I/8 bytes O
