2 - OPERATOR SKILLS AND TRAINING

2.1 Skills

Operators using the lift need:

a working knowledge of mortuary-service
procedures.

the ability to carry out mortuary-service
procedures.

a complete understanding of the procedures
described in this manual.

2.2 Training

Trainees need to:

follow the protocols of your facility.

read this manual.

practice with the lift before using it in regular
service.

be tested on their understanding of the lift.

record training information. A form is provided
on page 23.

3 - ABOUT THE LIFT

3.1 Description

The Ultra Care 4000

 (called the lift in this manual) is a

mortuary service device for lifting and transporting a
body or casket. The lift is for professional use only. A
minimum of one trained operator is required to operate
the lift. Additional help may be necessary when working
with heavy or large loads. Features include:

Battery-powered boom operation

24-Volt rechargeable lead-acid battery

Green ON indicator (shows lift is connected to wall
outlet)

Orange CHARGE indicator (shows lift battery is
being charged)

Audible low-charge alarm

Instant boom stop if an obstruction is encountered

Handheld control

Rear caster wheel locks

Folding legs

Four lifting straps

Plastic extractor wand with hook

Lift separates into three main elements

Untrained operators can cause injury or be
injured. Permit only trained personnel to
operate the lift.
