Using the Lift
5.9 Manually Lowering the Boom
If the power fails while the lift is carrying a load, pull
up the actuator release ring (Figure 18) to disengage
the actuator and allow the boom to descend. The further
the ring is pulled, the faster the shaft will descend. Let
go of the ring to re-engage the actuator.
Note:
If the power fails while the lift is not loaded,
charge the lift or contact EMSAR for parts and service
(page 21).
5.10 Rolling the Lift
Roll the lift on smooth, unobstructed surfaces. Do not
attempt to cross obstacles with the lift. Move the lift
around obstacles, or clear obstacles from the path of
the lift.
Use the pushbar handles to roll and steer the lift (Figure
19). Never push or pull the boom to move the lift.
Pushing or pulling the boom can cause the lift to tip.
For more maneuverability when not carrying a load,
lower the boom and store the spreader bar on the rear
of the lift (Figure 18). See
Storing the Lift,
page 10 for
instructions on removing and storing the spreader bar.
Important
Avoid obstacles that could cause the lift to
tip. Steer around obstacles or clear obstacles
from the path of the lift.
Important
Do not use the boom to move the lift. This
can cause the lift to tip. Use the pushbar
handles to move the lift.
