Using the Lift
5.4 Wheel Locks
Use the wheel locks on the rear wheel casters to help
steady the lift when lifting or lowering a load, and when
storing the lift. Release the wheel locks to roll the lift.
Do not use the wheel locks as brakes. They are for use
only to help steady the lift.
To engage a wheel lock, press down on the pedal (Figure
10). To disengage the wheel lock, press the small release
button in the center of the pedal (Figure 11).

Important
Always attach straps to the lift using the
keyhole tangs, never with the D-rings.
5.5 Attaching the Straps
An example of a lifting strap is shown in Figure 12.
Attach the plastic keyhole tangs to posts on opposite
sides of the spreader bar. Use the slider bar to adjust
the strap length.
The D-ring is used with the plastic extractor wand to
aid strap positioning. Do not attach straps to the lift by
the D-rings.
There are 11 posts on each side of the spreader-bar
assembly to allow a variety of strapping configurations.
Use accepted mortuary-service techniques to properly
support a body or casket for lifting.
Always verify that the load is properly balanced before
moving the lift.
Note: For convenience, arrange the straps so that the
D-rings of all four straps are on the same side of the
spreader-bar.
