8.13 As required
8.13.1 Air filter maintenance
NOTICE!
Danger of engine damage!
– Do not start the engine after
having removed the air filter.
– If necessary, the air filter may be
cleaned up to six times. After one
year at the latest it must be
replaced together with the safety
element.
– Cleaning does not make sense if
the air filter element is covered
with a sooty deposit.
– Do not use gasoline or hot fluids
to clean the filter element.
– After cleaning, the air filter must
be inspected for damage using a
torch.
– Do not continue to use a dam-
aged air filter element. If in doubt
use a new air filter.
– If the air filter is damaged, the
safety element must be replaced
as well.
– The safety element must not be
cleaned.
We generally recommend to renew
the air filter. A new filter element is
far less expensive than a possible
engine damage.
