8.9.2.2 Replacing the fuel filter, fuel pre-filter and fuel line filter
Perform this maintenance work at
the latest after one year.
Protective equip-
ment:
n Working clothes
n Protective gloves
1. Pull the plug-in connection off the fuel pre-
filter sensor on the water separator.
2. Place a collecting vessel under the drain
bore.
3. Unscrew the drain plug (1) and collect the
escaping fuel.
4. Open the quick lock (2) and take off the
fuel pre-cleaner (3).
5. Clean the sealing face on the filter carrier
from any dirt.

NOTICE!
Danger of engine damage!
– Never fill filters beforehand,
to avoid the entry of dirt into
the clean side.
Slightly oil the rubber seal on the new fuel
pre-filter.
7. Attach the fuel pre-filter (1) with quick lock
and ensure correct coding.
8. Close the quick lock (2) so that it engages
noticeably.
9. Screw in the drain plug (3).
10. Push the plug-in connection onto the
sensor on the water separator.
