Flashing
Indicates an error with the media (print ribbon or
cards). Refer to the following suggestions:
The cards or ribbon have run out. Replace as
necessary.
Check that the cards are properly loaded in the
Printer. See Card Feeding Errors in Section 2,
page 33.
Check that the proper ribbon type is installed
according to the ribbon type option selected in
the Printer driver. See Adjusting the Ribbon Type
option in Section 3, page 88.
Check for a ribbon jam or card jam. See
Resolving a Card Jam Error in Section 2, Page
39.
The Ribbon Sensor may need to be recalibrated.
See Using the Sensors button in Section 3, Page
101.
If your Printer has a magnetic encoding module
installed and you are attempting to encode
magnetic information onto a card while printing, a
flashing Media LED
can also indicate an
encoding mis-verify.
If information is not encoded properly or encoded
onto a bad Magnetic Stripe, the Printer is unable
to verify the encoded data. When this happens,
the Printer will eject the card before printing
begins and the Media LED will begin flashing.
Press the Media button
to resume encoding and
printing with a new card.
See Encoding Errors in Section 2, Page 50.
