4. PRECAUTIONS FOR MOUNTING ACCESSORIES OR COMPONENTS
FOR MODIFICATIONS
The use of non-standard ac-
cessories and/or components
on your bicycle may damage it and
compromise safe operation. This
may result in hazardous riding con-
ditions, falls and accidents.
- Do not attempt to install accessories or
equipment on the bicycle or modify it
any way on your own initiative.
In the case of modifications, always
consult a specialized vendor when
selecting accessories and compo-
nents. When calculating the additional
weight of the accessories it is impor-
tant to bear in mind the maximum per-
mitted weight of your bicycle.
5. WHO HAS THIS EPAC BICYCLE BEEN DESIGNED FOR
The rider must ....
.... be at least 15 years old.
.... be capable of riding a bicycle, i.e. that
be aware of the basic principles of cy-
cling and have the sense of balance
necessary to ride and control the bicy-
cle.
.... be capable of mounting, and dis-
mounting from, a stationary bicycle
safely. This is especially important in
the case of ergonomic saddles if the
rider is unable to touch the ground
with his/her feet when seated.
.... be physically suited to the specifica-
tions of the bicycle, and must not ex-
ceed the permitted weight limit.
.... be physically and mentally able to
cope with road traffic, especially if the
rider intends to use the bicycle on pub-
lic roads.
... have enough stamina to control the
bike safely for a period of almost two
hours, since it is
designed to reach high
speeds for prolonged periods.
The bicycle is not designed to
compensate for infirmity or lack
of physical fitness.
