6.3 Maintenance of mechanical parts
(1)Keep the discharge mechanism running smoothly and brush the joints with proper amount of
lubricant oil.
(2) Replace the lubricant grease regularly for each bearing with grease type of sodium base grease
(GB492-65) Zn-3.
(3)Coat drive chain with enough 30# machine oil and clean it regularly to ensure the chain is in good
lubrication condition.
(4) Lubricate reducing motor. Grease type: molybdenum sulfide -2 or ZL - 2 lithium base grease. For
the detail lubricant amount and maintenance of the reducer, please refer to Operation Manual of
Speed Reducer. Before the machine leaves the plant, ZL-2 lithium base grease has been added into
the gear motor so it is not necessary to add more lubricant oil. Otherwise, oil leakage may occur from
the end cover. For Mitsubishi lubricant oil, use type of ISO VG220. Some of the existing extruder
models use gear reducer with thin oil of type ISO VG220 .
(5) If the equipment to be out of use for a long time, make a complete cleaning and take prevention
against corrosion and rust.
(6)Clean out the residual materials inside and on the surface of the machine regularly to avoid
corrosion.
(7)Lubrication of chain: chain drive is used at the end of the conditioner discharge. Do lubrication for
the drive chain once every month. For lubrication, apply the lubricant oil with a viscosity grade in
Table6-4 on chain surfaces to suffice the mutual touching areas between sprocket teeth and both
sides of chain plates.
