Aluminium (Chef Extremen model)
To ensure that Fagor aluminium products
have a long life, we recommend following
these simple cleaning and maintenance tips:
Aluminium kitchenware is NOT suitable
for washing in automatic dishwashers or
industrial dishwashers. The detergents used
in them contain chemicals that damage
aluminium, causing discolourations and
irreversible corrosion.
Let your pots reach room temperature
before each wash. Sharp changes in
temperature can cause deformation and
irreparable damage to the base, which
would prevent uniform heat distribution.
After each use, wash the item by hand with
mild soap and warm water, using a sponge
or soft cloth. Rinse with plenty of water and
dry immediately to prevent scale stains.
Never use bleach or products containing
chlorine or caustic soda such as oven
cleaners that could damage the aluminium
surface finish.
Handle and store aluminium kitchenware
with care. Please note that aluminium
is not as strong as stainless steel and
excessive weight or heavy knocks could
deform the part.
General cleaning and care
Do not store the pot with the lid (1) on.
Place the lid (1) upside down on the pot.
This ensures the pot does not remain
damp, extending the life of the components
(especially the silicone sealing ring
(8)) and preventing bad odours being
generated inside.
Lid (1).
Do not wash the lid (1) or any of
its components in a dishwasher. It should
be washed with warm water and mild dish
washing detergent. Clean the opening of
the chimney (23), using a fine rod, and the
safety valve (7) by pressing it with the same
rod from the inside the lid (1).
Body (11) (Clasica model).
The cooker
body (11) can be put in a dishwasher. If you
clean the pot by hand, do not use metal
scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as
these may scratch the outer finish. Salt and
acidic components of the food can cause
corrosion if they remain inside for a long
period of time. Do not use the pressure
cooker as a storage container.
Body (11) (Chef Extremen model).
Depending on the food and seasoning used
for cooking, as well as the mineral content
of the water used in cooking, stains may
appear and even darken the base of the pot.
This will not affect your food or pressure
cooker performance. For cleaning, you
can boil a solution of water and vinegar at
NOTE:
overheating of the item can
sometimes cause iridescence that will
in no case be a hindrance to continuing
cooking or a risk to health. The
hardness of the water used for cooking
the food can have a great impact on the
appearance of white spots or lime scale
sticking to the bottom of the pot. To
remove stubborn stains, food residues
or discolouration from inside, simply
boil one part of vinegar dissolved in
four parts of water for 4 to 5 minutes
without fitting the lid (1). Then wash in
a conventional manner. If food sticks
or burns, do not use scrapers, sharp
utensils or metal sponges that could
scratch the base.
