Removing and Installing a Fan

The

DMS

1600

has

single

fan

module.

The

DMS

3600

has

two

identical

fan

modules.

The

fan

modules

are

hot-swappable.

Either

fan

can

removed

installed

without

powering

down

the

switcher.

Remove

and

retain

the

two

screws

that

secure

the

row

identification

plate

(identif

ing

rows

adjacent

DVI

input

and

output

connectors

)

fan.

Retain

the

plate.

Rotate

the

top

and

bottom

knurled

knobs

completel

loosen

the

captive

screws

(see

the

figure

below

)

Align the fan

module edges with

the plastic guides.

Slide

the

fan

out

the

chassis.

Orient

the

fan

installed

that

the

printing

the

back

the

panel

right-side

up.

Align

the

flanges

the

fan

with

the

top

and

bottom

fan

guides.

Gentl

slide

the

fan

into

the

enclosure

until

the

fan

meets

resistance.

Gentl

seat

the

fan

the

backplane.

Tighten

the

top

and

bottom

knurled

knobs

lock

the

fan

place.

Use

screwdriver

tighten

the

knurled

knobs.
