Connecting the UPS to the mains
1. Connect the input power supply cable to the AC socket.
CAUTION: The batteries start charging once input power supply is detected.
2. Connect a receiver to the UPS. It is recommended that the most critical devices
are connected to the main outputs and the less important ones to the controlled
outputs.
CAUTION:
The user's panel can be used to set the threshold of
disconnecting the controlled output sockets. In this way power can be
saved for higher priority receivers.
3. Once all connections have been made, follow the instructions in the next chapter
(Operation) to start the UPS and the external battery packs.
UPS START-UP
Initial procedure of starting the UPS up
1. When the UPS is used for the first time, make sure the unit is connected to the
mains and then press and hold the ON/OFF button until a sound signal is heard.
2. The UPS will react by emitting several sound signals and the MAINS MODE
message and UPS load level are displayed on the LCD. The connected receiver
are supplied with power.
Usual procedure of starting the UPS up
1. Press and hold the ON/OFF button until a sound signal is heard.
2. The UPS will react by emitting several sound signals and LEDs will flash up.
3. If the the AC mains is connected to the UPS, a green LED (1) will light up. The
MAINS MODE message will be displayed on the LCD, which means output
sockets are supplied with power.
4. If there is no input power supply (the green LED is off) and the cold start function
is on, the UPS unit's back-up mode LED will light up to indicate that the receiver
is drawing power from the battery. The BACK-UP MODE message will be
displayed on the LCD, along with estimated time of autonomous operation.
