Working Load Limit (WLL)
The Working Load Limit (WLL) of any hoist is the maximum load capacity that a user may apply to
a hoist or hoist system.
All Prodigy hoists have a Working Load Limit. This is identified on the product label on the back of
the hoist and on the batten label. This limit is not the same for all hoists, so be sure to check the
Working Load Limit for all hoists in your system. Prodigy Working Load Limits include a design-
safety factor.
NEVER exceed the Working Load Limit for any hoist.
W A R N I N G :
•
Do not exceed point load, Uniform Distributed Load (UDL), or Working
Load Limit (WLL) for any line set. See label on batten for POINT, UDL,
and WLL.
•
Point, distributed, and working load limits may be different for each
hoist.
•
Do not suspend persons from the hoist or any of its components.
•
Do not ride on the batten.
•
Do not operate equipment if unusual noises are heard coming from it.
•
Do not operate equipment if unusual smells are coming from it.
•
In the event of an Emergency Stop (E-Stop) do not restart the equipment
until the cause of the E-stop is identified and resolved.
•
Never lock or jam the operating buttons in the depressed (“on”)
position.
•
Use the remote control pendant when the load is obscured from this
operator position or have someone observe the load while it is moving.
•
The operator must never leave the controller when the hoist is in motion.
•
Remove the “Enable” key when a competent or qualified person is not
present.
•
Disconnect or lock out power to the Prodigy Powerhead or Qui
controller before servicing the interior of the systems.
•
Keep moisture away from the Prodigy Powerhead and Qui
controller.
•
Always inspect and test the Prodigy hoisting system and Qui
controls before each use.
•
Perform regular inspection and maintenance per the instruction manual.
•
The system must be inspected annually by a qualified ETC Rigging
inspector.
