ETC Rigging Fixed Speed Remote
Control
This quick guide illustrates the integration and use of the fixed speed remote control with your
ETC Rigging system. The remote control unit connects to any control station using a 7-pin XLR
connector. It offers individual up and down control as well as an emergency stop button so that
a motor can be run from a line-of-sight position.
Connecting the Remote Control
The wired end of the remote terminates at a male, 7-pin
XLR connector. Attach this connector to its female
counterpart located in the system control station. Be
sure that the connector is fully seated to ensure
connection to the system.
Using the Remote
If the control station you are connected to controls
multiple motors, you will have to select the motor or
motors that you wish to control at the station. For
instructions on this, please consult the user manual for
your specific control system.
Once you have selected the desired motor or motors
you may use the remote control to move the motor(s).
Once movement is initiated from the remote control, the
up/down controls on the control station become inactive
while the button is pressed. The reverse is true as well.
If a trim has been programmed for any selected motor, the motor will stop when it reaches the
trim location. To continue movement past this position, release the up

button
and then press and hold again. Movement will continue.
W A R N I N G :
Do not move load into people or other obstacles (such as scenery).
Machinery must only be operated from a line-of-sight position. The entire
load must be visible by the operator at all times during movement.
C A U T I O N :
To be operated by trained and authorized personnel only.
Once unplugged, the E-stop button on the remote will be inactive. For this reason,
the remote control must be stored in an inaccessible space (not visible to persons)
when not connected to the system. This will avoid the presence of an inoperable
E-stop button in case of an emergency.
Be aware of the remote’s cable location when in use as it is a trip hazard.
