4 Using the IED (Getting Started)
This section provides information on the start-up sequence and ways to interface with the F-
PRO relay. Descriptions of the Front Panel Display, Terminal user interface and Metering Data
are provided.
4.1 Start-up Sequence
When the power supply is connected, the following initialization sequence takes place.
Approximately on or before the 4th second after the power supply is connected, the green
Functional LED turns on and indicates that the relay is actively protecting the system and
available for communicating with the user.
4.2 Front Panel Display
The front panel display is the fastest and easiest way of getting information from the relay.

The LCD display, eight LED lights and five push buttons provide access to selective information
about the relay.
