3.3.2 Check List Prior to Start Up
To ensure no one starts the machine while proceeding with the checklist, push the emergency-
stop button, padlock the electrical disconnect switch and take the key out of the ignition
switch.
CAUTION!
Before going near the machine, deactivate the
remote control and push the stop button.
Engine

Make sure that no one can be hit by the Power Pack access panel when opening or closing it.
- Check the engine oil level with the dipstick. Do not operate the engine while the oil level is
below the add mark on the dipstick.
- Check the coolant level, only when the engine is cold.
- Check the fan and the alternator belts for stretched out areas, burn spots, cracks or other wear
indications.
- Check the air filter indicator gauge to determine if the air cleaner needs to be serviced.
- Refer to your Caterpillar operator’s guide for further details.
Unit

Make sure that all safety devices work properly.
- Make sure nothing interferes with the operation of any part of the Erin Fingerscreener
FS206T.
- Clean out all dirt in the engine and hydraulic system compartment.
- Check all conveyor belts for excessive wear and tear.
- Check the hydraulic oil level on the tank thermometer. The level should be between the black
and red lines.
- Check for any hydraulic oil leaks.
- Put the mode switch (screening – traction) in screening mode.
- Unlock the electrical disconnect switch.
- Make sure that all hydraulic levers are in the off position and that the Screen Box is empty.
- Make sure both acoustic warning signals work properly.

CAUTION!
Always wear the minimum safety equipment (glasses, steel-cap
boots, proper clothes) to avoid injuries due to hydraulic oil
ejection or other hazards.
