3.1.2 Transporting the Printer
When transporting the printer, attach the transport fixing
plate, transporting damper, and upper case damper. Then
pack the printer in a specially provided package so that the
printer does not come into contact with other products.
Also, be careful not to drop it or apply any kind of external
stress.
Attaching the transport protective materials
When transporting the printer, attach the transport protec-
tive materials by following the steps below.
(1) Turn the printer power off and on again; then open the
printer cover.
(2) Insert the transporting damper and upper case damper
as shown in Figure 3-1.

(3) Remove the ribbon cassette, paper roll, and take-up
spool.
(4) Close the printer cover and turn off the power.
(5) Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet; then
disconnect the 24 V DC cable from the printer.
(6) Disconnect the interface cable from the printer.
(7) Disconnect the drawer kick-out cable and customer
display cable from the printer, if they are connected.
(8) Insert the transport fixing plate into the printer from
front, as shown in Figure 3-2.
(9) Insert projections A, B, and C on the fixing screw into
the corresponding holes in the printer; then tighten the
screw, as shown in Figure 3-2.

3.1.3 Loading the Paper Roll
Use a paper roll that matches the printer's specifications.
See 1.2.3,
Paper specifications.
(1) Make sure that the paper roll is folded straight, as
shown in Figure 3-3.

(2) Turn on the printer, open the printer cover, and remove
the take-up spool.
(3) Insert paper roll as shown in Figure 3-4.
