Operation of the clutch mechanism when stopping pa-
per feeding
When stopping paper roll feeding, current is supplied to the
paper feed clutch solenoid on the J paper feed roller shaft.
This magnetizes the clutch solenoid, causing the paper
feed clutch plate on the J paper feed roller shaft to retract.
The paper feed clutch plate which rotates in unison with the
J paper feed roller shaft locks, causing the paper feed
clutch spring connected to the paper feed clutch plate to
open (so that the spring diameter becomes larger). This
reduces the torque on the J paper feed roller shaft. As a
result, the rotation is no longer transferred to the J paper
feed roller, which in turn stops the paper from being fed.

Mechanical form stopper mechanism
This mechanism consists of the parts shown in Figure 2-28.
A part of the form stopper set is linked to the paper holder
lever set. When no current is being supplied to the paper
holder switching solenoid, the form stopper set presses
against the guide frame set (the state indicated by the solid
lines in Figure 2-28). If current is supplied to the paper
holder switching solenoid, the paper holder lever set moves
in the direction of
➡
A, and the form stopper set linked to the
paper holder lever set moves in the direction of
➡
B, out of
the paper path (the state indicated by the dotted lines in
Figure 2-28).

Manual release mechanism
The J release lever of this mechanism is mounted on the
rear portion of left side of the guide frame (at the paper roll
inlet on the left side of the main frame set). The end of the
lever is always linked to the J holder roller shaft. Note that
this lever moves using its fastening screw as its fulcrum. If
the J release lever is moved in the direction of
➡
A, the end
of the lever moves the J holder roller shaft in the direction
of
➡
B, and the J holder roller moves away from the J paper
feed roller (the state indicated by the dotted lines in Figure
2-29). As a result, a gap opens between the J paper feed
roller and the J holder roller, making it possible to easily pull
the paper out.
Note that because the tension of the J holder roller spring
is always trying to move the J release lever towards its
original position, the lever returns to its original position as
soon as you remove your finger from it.

Semi-autoloading mechanism
The semi-autoloading mechanism is located on the upper
portion of the print head unit, and changes the paper feed
motor drive and paper path. This mechanism simplifies the
task of loading the paper roll.
