Statuses and handling methods (status monitor messages in bold)

Turn Paper MP Tray

, 

Turn Paper Cassette1

The orientation (portrait or landscape) of the paper that is set in the indicated
paper source is not correct. Change the orientation of the paper in the paper
source.

Can’t Print Duplex

The printer has encountered problems during duplex printing. The problem could
also be a result of incorrect settings for the paper source you are using. Pressing
the 

OK

 button will print the rest of the print job on only one side of the paper. To

cancel the print job, see 

“Cancelling a Print Job” on page 62

.

Set Paper

The paper loaded in the specified paper source does not match the required paper
size or type. Replace the loaded paper with the correct size paper or paper type,
and press the 

OK

 button to resume printing.Pressing the 

OK

 button will print the

rest of the print job on only one side of the paper. To cancel the print job, see

“Cancelling a Print Job” on page 62

. To clear this warning, make sure that A4 or LT is

set to the specified paper source in the Tray Menu, load A4 or Letter size paper in
the specified paper source and click the 

OK

.

Note:

If A4/LT Auto Switching in Setup Menu is set to A4->LT, LT->A4 or
A4<->LT:

When printing a job specified as A4 with the printer driver, there is no
paper source that is set as A4 or as LT (alternate size for A4) in the Tray
Menu.

❏

When printing a job specified as letter size with the printer driver, there is
no paper source that is set as LT or as A4 (alternate size for LT) in the Tray
Menu.

Paper Out

❏

Paper is not loaded in the paper source from which the printer tried to feed. 
Loading paper clears the error and printing starts.

❏

There is no paper loaded in any paper source. 
Loading paper into any paper source clears the error and printing starts.

❏

Paper cassette is not inserted correctly. 
Push the cassette all the way in to securely insert it.

Check Paper Size

The paper size setting is different from the size of paper loaded in the printer.
Check to see if the correct size of paper is loaded in the specified paper source.

Check Media Type

The paper loaded in the printer does not match the paper type setting in the
printer driver. Paper that matches only the paper size setting will be used for
printing.
