CAUTION!
When cutting EC, the ground attendant must keep at least six (6)
feet (2 metres) or more away from the bucket. The ground
attendant must stay out of the area below and on either side of the
bucket as ballast may fall out of the bucket and the front end loader
may swing or move. Safety eye wear, gloves, hard hat, steel toe
foot wear must be worn during this operation.
While deploying at a constant speed of 1 to 2+MPH,
the operator
simultaneously
releases adequate
anchoring material at regular onto the EC.
Note: By following the above noted deployment
method,
a
scalable,
uninterrupted
continuous, impermeable cover will be
realized.
Note: If the Hydraulic Guillotine Gate is opened,
ballast may be spilled in travelling.
2)
At the end of each panel deployment, EC is to be cut using EC knife.
Before cutting EC:
a.
For safety, the ground attendant must
signal (See Chapter 8) the Model 800
operator to extend EC by approximately
6 feet (2 metres) beyond the last ballast
drop.
b.
The ground attendant must signal the
Model 800 operator before cutting EC.
NOW EC is ready to be cut.
c.
The Model 800 must not move until the
ground attendant has finished cutting EC, secured it onto both spikes and
has signalled to the Model 800 operator to proceed.
