DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
5.15.1 DHCP enable
This parameter determines if the module gets it’s network configuration (
IP address,
subnet mask, etc.
) from the host drive parameters or from a DHCP server on the
network. The DHCP server can be configured to give the module the next free address
or an address based on the MAC address of SM-Ethernet.

A DHCP server will typically provide SM-Ethernet with an IP address, subnet mask,
default gateway and DNS information.
