8. To dispose of the appliance, cut the power
cord. Render those components of the appli-
ance which could pose a danger to children
harmless.
RISKS POSED BY ELECTRICITY
9. Before plugging the appliance into the
socket, make sure that the voltage indicated
on the nominal data plate matches the local
input voltage.
10. Always plug the appliance into a grounded
socket.
11. Do not begin ironing with wet hands or
bare feet.
12. Do not leave the appliance unsupervised
while it is plugged in. Plug the power cord out
of the socket after every use.
13. The device and the power cord must be
kept well away from hot surfaces and sharp
edges.
14. The use of extension cords which have not
been approved by the manufacturer can cause
damages to property as well as physical inju-
ries.
15. The iron must be plugged out of the socket
before filling it with water.
16. Do not immerse the appliance in water or

other liquids.
17. Do not operate the appliance if there are
visible signs of damage on it or on the power
cord, or if the appliance has been dropped. Do
not use the appliance if the power cord or
plug are damaged, or if the appliance itself is
faulty, in order to avoid any risks. In order to
prevent any risks, all repairs - including re-
placements of the power cord - must be car-
ried out by an authorised Support Centre or by
a suitably qualified person.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be re-
placed by the manufacturer or by its technical
assistance service or in any case by a person
with similar qualifications, in order to prevent
any risks.
18. Fill the tank with water before operating
the appliance. Before pouring water into the
tank, make sure that the appliance is plugged
out. The water inlet for filling the tank must
not be left open during use.
19. Do not leave the appliance unsupervised
while it is plugged in.
20. Before using, always unwind the power
cord fully.
