Wireless communication
The parameters that are required to integrate the WirelessHART Adapter into a wireless network
can be configured in the adapter DTM.
1. Click
Wireless Communication
in the DTM navigation tree.

You can enter text in the white fields. Press
Enter
to save your changes.

The gray fields are read-only.

An explanation of the individual parameters is provided in the "Wireless communication
parameters" table below. Mandatory fields are highlighted in bold.
2. Configure the parameters
Network Identification, Radio Power, Join Key Part 1 of 4
to
Join Key Part 4 of 4, Join Shed Time, Join Mode
.
3. Press the
Execute Join
button to download the network settings and save them in the
WirelessHART Adapter.

The joining status can be tracked in the
Join Status
parameter.

Wireless Operation Mode
Indicates the operation mode of the WirelessHART Adapter
• Idle: waiting
• Active Search: searching for neighbors
• Negotiating: connection parameters are being exchanged with
the network manager
• Quarantined: network manager has denied connection.
Adapter temporarily excluded from the network
• Operational: adapter is connected
• Suspended: permanently excluded from the network
• Deep sleep/Ultra-Low Power/Passive Search: adapter is
inactive

– 0 or 10 dBm
– National restriction to 0 dBm is possible (e.g. in Japan)
