Appendix A: Troubleshooting
This chapter presents recommendations and solutions to common operational
problems, such as contamination, and excessive sampling gas temperatures
and pressures. If your analyzer does not appear to be hampered by one of
these related problems, refer to Table A–1 on page A–3 before contacting
Troubleshooting resolutions in this chapter are confined to firmware operational
issues only. For hardware related issues, refer to the Hardware Manual for your
system.
Contamination
Contamination and long exposure to high humidity are valid reasons for
periodically cleaning the gas sampling lines. Contamination in the gas sampling
lines can potentially find its way to the sample cell and deposit on the optics or
interfere with the measurement in some other way. Although the analyzer is
designed to withstand some contamination, it is recommended to always keep
the sampling lines as contamination free as possible. Refer to the Hardware
Manual for instructions on keeping the sampling lines clean and cleaning the
mirrors.
Excessive Sampling Gas Temperatures and
Pressures
The analyzer is designed to produce accurate measurements only within the
allowable cell operating range. Refer to the calibration report or the system
drawings provided with the analyzer.
Pressures and temperatures outside this range will trigger a

fault.
Peak Tracking Reset Procedure
The analyzer’s software is equipped with a peak tracking function that keeps
the laser scan centered on the absorption peak. Under some circumstances,
The cell temperature operating range for analyzers that are
equipped with heated enclosures is equal to the enclosure
temperature setpoint ±5 °C.
If the pressure, temperature, or any other readings on the LCD
appear suspect, they should be checked against the
specifications. Refer to the calibration report or system drawings
provided with your analyzer.
