FIREPLACE FRAMING AND INSTALLATION
FINISHING
1. After gas and electrical hookup is completed, lower and
secure the burner assembly (leave two supports in bottom of
fireplace for future use) with the two screws removed in Step
7 on page 15.
2. Install the glass wind panel (two used on see-through fire
-
places). The glass panel has a low emission (low-E) coating
applied to one side. The panel must be installed with the
low-E coating facing the burner. The panel will have a sticker
located in the bottom corner of the side which has the low-E
coating. Install the glass panel with the sticker facing the
burner and the bottom of the panel.
See Figure 21.
DO NOT REMOVE THE STICKER
before installing the
glass panel. It is located on the panel such that it should not
be visible after the control door is installed. This will allow
easy identification of the low-E side of the glass if the glass
panel is ever removed for service.
If the sticker is not on the glass panel, the low-E side of the
glass can be determined by using a multimeter/ohmmeter.
The low-E coating will conduct electricity. Set the meter
to read resistance (Ω). Hold the probes against the glass
surface approximately 1 inch apart. If the meter displays a
resistance reading (indicating continuity), this is the side of
the glass panel which has the low-E coating.

3. Reinstall the pivot bolts and washers removed in step 7 on

4. Unscrew the ignitor button and install the AA battery provided
in the instruction envelope prior to closing the control door.
See
Figure 22.

Framing and Finishing
The fireplace is installed with panels around the opening as a
clean face installation.
See Figure 23.
The top and sides must
use non-combustible panels (provided) where shown going over
the face of the fireplace. Outside of this area, any weatherproof
wallboard may be used.
