Installation and Replacement Procedures

NOTICE
The information described in this section applies to service technicians only.
1.
Follow instructions on how to remove the cover, see Section 5.1,

Locate the RTC battery (
Figure 9: RTC Battery
Note: The gap pad is already removed.
3.
Remove the RTC battery carefully from the retaining clip.
4.
Install a new RTC battery in the retaining clip with the positive (+) side up and reapply the
gap pad. (The gap pad establishes a thermal connection from battery to the lid. Otherwise,
thermal derating might be required).
WARNING
The battery may explode if mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100° C (212 °F),
or incinerate!
WARNING
When replacing, use only Rayovac BR2032 or equivalent battery. Using other batteries may result
in fire or explosion!
