Basic System: One RX3i CPU and ECM850 Using Multiple
Ports
The illustration below shows the same basic system as before, with one RX3i CPU with one
ECM850 acting as an IEC 61850 client on a single IEC 61850 network, but this example
shows the ECM850 directly connected to each separate IED in a star topology. Although
each IED is connected to a separate Ethernet port on the ECM850, they are all on the same
network segment, LAN 1.
