• If the spark is a clear, continuous, bright beam and is nicely centred between the electrodes,
then the spark plug is still good.
• If the sparks is weak, irregular, and not as well-centred between electrodes, then the spark plug
needs to be replaced.
11.4.2. Machine maintenance
Always take care that the space being used for performing maintenance is properly suitable in
accordance with the recommendations as described in § 11.1.
Removing protective coverings
The Edge Styler STD as well as the Edge Styler PRO each have three different types of protective
coverings.
•
Cover for the blade carriage.
•
Cover for the blade transmission.
•
Cover for the foot pedal.
These should be loosened depending on the mainte-
nance procedure.
• Cover for the blade carriage.
- Make sure the motor is off and that the blade carriage is in trans-
port mode.
- Using a wrench (number 10), the three bolts holding on the cover
should be removed.
- Remove the cover by first sliding it away from the machine, fol-
lowed by an upwards motion.
• Cover for the blade transmission.
- Make sure the motor is off and that the blade carriage is in trans-
port mode.
- Using a wrench (number 10), the two bolts holding on the cover
should be removed.
- Remove the protective cover.
Caution :
Putting in a spark plug, regardless of whether it is old or new, should be done
with the utmost caution, so that the screw thread in the cylinder head certainly
does not become damaged. Secure the spark plug with a torque of 20 Nm.
A loose spark plug can cause the motor to become overheated and inflict dam-
age.
Screwing in the spark plug too tightly could damage the screw thread in the
cylinder head.
