• There is a 100° range of motion in the steering angle, 50° in each
direction from the normal.
• To adjust, first loosen the middle lever underneath the steering.
• The entire steering is decoupled by rotating the locking pin, the up
-
permost lever, downwards.
• Move the steering rack laterally to the preferred position or in 1 of the
3 pre-sets (upright, 31.5° left offset, 31.5° right offset).
• Should you decide to use one of the pre-sets, then you should first set
the locking pin in an upright position.
• If a random position is chosen, then you only need to screw the middle
lever back in.
• The middle lever should also be screwed in when operating the ma -
chine at one of the pre-set angles.
9 .5 Troubleshooting
Any efforts to troubleshoot defects or malfunctions are considered forms of maintenance. Be
mindful, as well, of the specific safety recommendations for maintenance (read § 11.1).
9.5.1. Motor fails to start after idle periods
If the machine fails to start up after periods of inactivity, then this could be the result of any of
the following causes:
• Low on petrol
• Petrol is stale
• Bad spark plug
Take the following steps to restart the machine in case of one of the following:
Low on petrol :
- Usually when stowing away the machine for a long time, it is advised to empty out residual
petrol. It is possible for this to slip your mind, in which case you forget to refill the machine.
- Therefore, verify that there is adequate petrol in the tank, and fill her up as needed (read §
11.4.1.1.).
- Close the throttle (choke) so that the petrol is sucked into the line.
- Tug forcefully on the recoil starter cable several times until the motor starts running (see :
§9.3.1: starting the motor).
For your information :
The fixed positions in which the locking pin is switched are much more stable
and cannot shift during operation of the machine.
