Maintenance and care
WARNING
The electronics and internal rechargeable
batteries of
RAILSTRAIGHT
are sensitive
to wetness and can be damaged
if there is contact with water. The
rechargeable batteries are also highly
flammable and after contact with water
liberate extremely flammable gases.
The rechargeable batteries can catch fire
and explode. This can lead to heat burns
and chemical burns which can be fatal.
Never submerse
RAILSTRAIGHT
in water.
ATTENTION
Measuring surface sensitive to scratches.
If cleaned incorrectly the measuring surface
can easily be damaged. Therefore when
cleaning observe the following instructions:
• Do not use steel wool, non-woven tissues,
brushes or other aggressive cleaning agents.
• Only use a clean, soft cleaning cloth.
• Protect
RAILSTRAIGHT
against
prolonged wetness and moisture.
• After using
RAILSTRAIGHT
in the rain wipe
dry with a clean, soft cleaning cloth.
• If there is persistent dirt on
RAILSTRAIGHT
(e.g. due to lubricant on the rail), clean
with a grease-dissolving detergent
and a soft cleaning cloth.

RAILSTRAIGHT
does not require extensive maintenance
and care. It should, however, be cleaned regularly and
with the aid of the calibration inspection checked after
every 1000 measurements for its correct function.

In general, we recommend that
RAILSTRAIGHT
should be sent to the service department
after 20,000 measurements or at the
latest after a year of operation for a
comprehensive service and calibration.
