TROUBLESHOOTING
GUIDE
This list includes common occurrences that are not the result of defective w orkm anship or
m aterials in this appliance.
PROBLEM CAUSE
CORRECTION
BEVERAGE CENTER OPERATION
Beverage center does not
run.
•
Beverage center is plugged into a circuit
that has a ground fault interrupt.
•
Tem perature control is in the “O” position.
•
Beverage center m ay not be plugged in,
or plug m ay be loose.
•
House fuse is blow n or circuit breaker
tripped.
•
Pow er outage.
•
Use another circuit. If you are unsure about the
outlet, have it checked by a certified technician.
•

•
Ensure plug is tightly pushed into outlet.
•
Check/replace fuse w ith a 15 am p tim e-delay fuse.
Reset circuit breaker.
•
Check house lights. Call local electric com pany.
Beverage center runs too
m uch or too long.
•
Room or outside w eather is hot.
•
Beverage center has recently been
disconnected for a period of tim e.
•
Doors are opened too frequently or too
long.
•
Beverage center door m ay be slightly
open.
•
Tem perature control is set too low .
•
Beverage center gasket is dirty, w orn,
cracked, or poorly fitted.
•
It’s norm al for the beverage center to w ork harder
under these conditions.
•
It takes 4 hours for the beverage center to cool
dow n com pletely.
•
W arm air entering the beverage center causes it
to run m ore. Open door less often.
•

•
Adjust tem perature control to a w arm er setting.
Allow several hours for tem perature to stabilize.
•
Clean or change gasket. Leaks in the gasket w ill
cause beverage center to run longer in order to
m aintain desired tem perature.
Interior beverage center
tem perature is too cold.
•
Tem perature control is set too low .
•
Adjust tem perature control to a w arm er setting.
Allow several hours for tem perature to stabilize.
Interior beverage center
tem perature is too w arm.
•
Tem perature control is set too w arm .
•
Door is kept open too long or is opened
too frequently.
•
Door m ay not be seating properly.
•
Beverage center has recently been
disconnected for a period of tim e.
•
Adjust tem perature control to a colder setting.
Allow several hours for the tem perature to
stabilize.
•
W arm air enters the beverage center every tim e
the door is opened. Open the door less often.
•

•
It takes 4 hours for the beverage center to cool
dow n com pletely.
Beverage center external
surface temperature is

•
The external w alls can be as much as 30°
F w arm er than room tem perature.
•
This is norm al while the compressor w orks to
transfer heat from inside the beverage center.
SOUND AND N OISE
Louder sound levels
w henever beverage center
is on.
•
Modern beverage centers have increased
storage capacity and more stable
tem peratures. They require a high
efficiency compressor.
•
This is norm al. W hen the surrounding noise level
is low, you m ight hear the compressor running
w hile it cools the interior.
Longer sound levels w hen
com pressor com es on.
•
Beverage center operates at high
pressures during the start of the “ON”
cycle.
•
This is norm al. Sound will level off or disappear as
the beverage center continues to run.
Fan runs w hen room
tem perature is below 45° F
•
Exterior therm ostat has activated the
heater and fan.
•
This is norm al.
Popping or cracking sound
w hen com pressor comes
on.
•
Metal parts undergo expansion and
contraction, as in hot w ater pipes.
•
This is norm al. Sound will level off or disappear as
beverage center continues to run.
Bubbling or gurgling sound
like water boiling.
•
Refrigerant (used to cool beverage
center) is circulating throughout the
system .
•
This is norm al.
