ECR description
two cash drawers. You can use narrow (4 banknote compartments) or wide (8 banknote compart-
ments) cash drawers as needed.
The cash drawer is connected to ECR by a thin cable that enables automatic opening. The cable/
connector combination allows conveniently disconnecting and moving the ECR and the drawer.
Both small and mid-size establishments will surely welcome the possibility to place the drawer
wherever desired and operate it using the ECR. Ask your authorised POS-3000 dealer for delivery
and installation of a cash drawer.
Cashier display
It is possible to connect 640×480 VGA DSTN touch sensitive display instead of the original
640×240 touch sensitive display. Its main advantage is that it is able to display much larger
amount of information (during sale or reports). Ask your authorised POS-3000 dealer for deliv-
ery and installation of the VGA touch sensitive display drawer.
External customer display, cashier monitor
External customer display is a supplement to the internal customer
display that is imbedded into the body of POS-3000. External display
is placed so that its digits are clearly visible to the customer.
The connection is provided for by supplied cable. The display is sup-
plied in versions with/without backlight in tabletop version with
stand.
It is also possible to connect a monochromatic 9” SVGA cashier mon-
itor. ECR has to be equipped with the CRT video module in order
for SVGA monitor to work. Ask your authorised POS-3000 dealer for delivery and installation
of additional display/monitor.
IrDA
Infrared interface (IrDA) is convenient if data are frequently transferred between ECR and PC
and neither ECR nor PC is connected to common computer network. This can save on equip-
ment weariness caused by frequent plugging and unplugging of the network cable.
Ask your authorised POS-3000 dealer for more information and potential activation of infrared
interface.
Barcode readers
The POS-3000 cash register is equipped with the interface for connecting the barcode read-
er (scanner) by default. If you decided to employ the functionality of a barcode scanner, this
subchapter can help you choose one. In any case, it is recommended to consult the purchase of
suitable barcode reader with your authorised POS-3000 dealer.
Scanner is connected to the ECR using the built-in RS-232 serial interface and standard Canon
connector. The scanner should feature the same interface and connector. ECR supplies the scan-
ner with +5 V of input voltage. Both scanner and ECR should be properly programmed prior
connecting one to another.
The Metrologic scanners are recommended for POS-3000. Ask your POS-3000 dealer for further
information. There is special scanner price if purchased along with a new cash register.
